Karen Mills Former Head of the SBA

Karen Mills is someone who has a unique perspective on small business. She was a venture capitalist for 25 years before moving to Washington in late 2008 when she was appointed by President Obama to head the Small Business Administration, right in the thick of the financial crisis. For five years, until late 2013, she spent all of her time trying to help American small businesses and a big part of that was improving access to capital. I first wrote about them on Lend Academy two years ago and have been wanting to get them on the podcast to go more in depth into their operation. They are an innovative company and there are lessons here for all of us, even if you are not interested in the Australian market.

Keep in mind that this podcast was recorded several days ago and some things have changed since we recorded our discussion.
